I'm in again! Need a new season started!

Posted by: 89TurboTA on Thursday Mar 12, 2015 at 1:33 p.m. UTC

Are we all in again for this new 2015 F-1 Season???

Posted by: scuderiateocalli on Wednesday Mar 11, 2015 at 8:26 p.m. UTC

Congratulations to mattbarlow, F-1 Champ and the always-wise SuperBestFriends for their podium finish this year. Next year will be interesting...and Scuderiateocalli will be up for the challenge! Happy Holidays to one and all.

Posted by: scuderiateocalli on Wednesday Nov 26, 2014 at 9:23 p.m. UTC

Jeez, last night I composed my verbose end of season review and congratulations. It's not there tonight. Waaa!

Posted by: Jimbo on Tuesday Nov 25, 2014 at 5:59 a.m. UTC

hello

Posted by: Jimbo on Tuesday Nov 25, 2014 at 5:57 a.m. UTC

Jimbo spoke from 'is ass. It's only this season that we have the "Power Units". Reckon they sounded just as good last year as the year before! Lost me head eh.

One race to go. Will F1Champ drive around MatBarlow? Will we get double points like the big boys? Have a look at the season here.

Posted by: Jimbo on Tuesday Nov 11, 2014 at 7:36 a.m. UTC

To go back a ways, we had 6 58's on race 5 (Gran Premio de España). Eight takes the cake!

I'm glad to see that CracklyFinger is still represented at GP Austin by scuderiateocalli and SuperBestFriends! I'm also glad that HotRod and I were in attendance at the last race with the good sounding engines! More food is always better! Too bad about the music but maybe we are too old and have more discerning tastes.

@graham: Will we get double points on the last race too??

Posted by: Jimbo on Saturday Nov 8, 2014 at 5:48 p.m. UTC

Circuit of the America's General Observations:

  1. The sound coming from the new "power units" are as disappointing as advertised. The race engines for the Ferrari Challenge cars were more impressive. The same for the various rock bands playing in the arena behind Turn 15.
  2. Lots more food choices than ever before.
  3. Perfect weather yet again!

Posted by: scuderiateocalli on Monday Nov 3, 2014 at 2:32 p.m. UTC

Ah cmon, nobody moved. Is this the first for eight 58's? Ricciardo, you sand bagger you.

Posted by: 4BktVet on Sunday Nov 2, 2014 at 11:53 p.m. UTC

Damn, MBZ's are taking over. Probably won't get 'Wings' until 'Brasil.

Posted by: 4BktVet on Sunday Oct 12, 2014 at 2:06 p.m. UTC

So,no more coaching from pit lane to the drivers via radio eh?! Wonder how strictly that will be enforced? Violations get a drive through penalty or something? Will FIA be jamming radio transmissions for teams that violate? Will this make the racing more interesting, more difficult for the drivers?

Piangere per Fernando miei amici! Poor Fernando! Poor Tifosi! Poor me and six more of us! Ouch! A travesty, unless you happened to pick Ricciardo or Vettel. Finally Massa gets on the podium! All the years in the Ferrari longing to get there. Pretty slick of Massa and Rosberg spewing out in Italiano. And yes, the Shiny one was gleaming!

Posted by: Jimbo on Wednesday Sep 10, 2014 at 5:14 a.m. UTC

Mmmm, may have to re-asses Vettel vs. Ricciardo. the youngster seems to have a bit of skill...

Posted by: isthisindycar on Sunday Sep 7, 2014 at 6:23 p.m. UTC

and we're STILL 4 hours off...

I think the clock double clicked a cog or two.

Posted by: Jimbo on Tuesday Jul 22, 2014 at 4:24 a.m. UTC

...and we can't enter results because the site still thinks the race has not started.

Posted by: 4BktVet on Sunday Jul 20, 2014 at 5:47 p.m. UTC

Interesting that the picks deadline says 5 hours 28min at 7:30AM on 7/19/14. Q3 has been completed. Whats up with that?

Posted by: 4BktVet on Saturday Jul 19, 2014 at 2:34 p.m. UTC

Cannot believe I'm still in the pink. matbarlow is looking mighty far ahead.

Posted by: graham on Tuesday Jul 8, 2014 at 3:46 a.m. UTC

Thanks for the birthday toast @Jimbo and @4BktVet! Good on ya, eh?

Posted by: graham on Saturday Jun 7, 2014 at 5:49 a.m. UTC

Cheers to the First Mate! Happy Birthday @graham!! Jimbo and 4BktVet put on the Fez's for this one Big Daddy!!

Posted by: Jimbo on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 3:15 a.m. UTC

Aarg.....a broken gearbox! See must be mad as a wet hen......his car keeps hacking issues and his teammate just runs strong all day.

Posted by: isthisindycar on Sunday May 25, 2014 at 9:23 p.m. UTC

You guys crack me up.

Fairly tight battle in our top ten, lots of room for movement. Kinda wild how Ricciardo, Bottas, etc. are valid picks these days.

Posted by: graham on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at 4:41 a.m. UTC

Yeah, yeah....I only entered the top four...that all I needed to cover my choices.....no need to go lower down the order! Besides, I was too tired to remember the rest of the finishing order.

Posted by: isthisindycar on Monday May 12, 2014 at 4:13 a.m. UTC

Thank you Graham! It looked REALLY GRIM for some of us this morning. I'm guessing that isthisindycar only entered the top three, not the top ten. What a n00b!

Posted by: Jimbo on Sunday May 11, 2014 at 11:08 p.m. UTC

What a comfortable drive for Hamilton! He was just cruising around the course...made it look easy.

Posted by: isthisindycar on Sunday Apr 20, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. UTC

Finally got your guesses entered for Australia @Jimbo. Thanks for your patience. You are now in tenth place!

Posted by: graham on Thursday Apr 17, 2014 at 5:19 a.m. UTC

@graham Yo! Does HotRod have any points for the first race, eh? He's languishing.

Posted by: Jimbo on Tuesday Apr 15, 2014 at 1:31 a.m. UTC

Worried about Vettel for Bahrain! Slid in P2 and P3, and Red Bull had worried about their performance this weekend. Can the skills of a consummate driver overcome a so-so car?!

Posted by: isthisindycar on Saturday Apr 5, 2014 at 4:26 p.m. UTC

Ricciardo's punishment affected a couple Fantasy players. Graham dropped 2 places and Jimbo, 4BktVet and scuderiateocalli all moved up 2 as a result. In fact, anyone between 4th and 11th moved up. But the heaviest casualty was poor old Ketchup who went from 4th to 11th. Ouch! Now YOU need to catch up.

One has to wonder, if the sensor was faulty as FIA said, how can the they use it's data to disqualify someone??!! Was the flow REALLY too high or was the sensor's accuracy the problem? BOOOO and RASPBERRIES to the FIA!

Posted by: Jimbo on Wednesday Mar 19, 2014 at 6:46 p.m. UTC

No doubt about it -- some of the new F1 cars' front ends look like deviated septums...

Posted by: scuderiateocalli on Sunday Mar 16, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. UTC

Well race fans, our first race is done and we have a major controversy. Poor Daniel Ricciardo has been accused of too high a fuel flow rate and sent to the bottom of the pile. I entered the results after the race last night but if Red Bull's appeal doesn't fly, there will be changes in the Cracklyfinger results too. I have chosen NOT to make the changes until the appeal is resolved. We will have to stay tuned.

I must admit that I wasn't sure we would have a Fantasy this year but Graham came through again! Good work Graham! Thanks again! We're off and running.

Posted by: Jimbo on Sunday Mar 16, 2014 at 6:46 p.m. UTC

The new engines and car forms will take some getting used too. I miss the engine sound of last year...and that nose shape on the cars...leaves much to be desired.

Any guesses on what happens to Kobayashi for his firs turn accident?

Posted by: isthisindycar on Sunday Mar 16, 2014 at 7:51 a.m. UTC

Based only on watching TV -- I don't like the sound coming from the new engines. And some of the cars are pretty unattractive in my opinion... Anyone agree?

First 2 time champ...first to comment...see a pattern...
